We've thrown a lot of food away. Tons. But of these 7. 7 million we do not know how much is waste (shells, skin, etc. ) and it's a real  waste to throw edible food in the trash. And we don't know why it's not quantified. However, other data can be specified. According  to the European Union, Spain is the seventh country that wastes the most food, the first being theUnited Kingdom with 14. 4 tons. Of the 7. 7 million tones that are created in Spain, the majority, 42% is what is thrown away in the houses. The food industry   is guilty of 39%, restaurants and food services 14% and shops and distribution 5%.
