Containerization process
1- Collect
Once the products have been consumed, the waste no longer fulfills the function for which it was created and becomes waste. The. process begins at home, so it is in everyone's hands that the path of recycling is possible. When throwing away the garbage, it is important to differentiate the different materials, by means of the colored containers that we have explained previously in 'Today's Recycling System'. In homes, each person should divide it into small amounts and then throw it into the appropriate containers located on the street. These containers are available every day at all times. In Spain there are 383,974 yellow containers and 217,170 blue containers. This is handled by the town and the autonomous community.
2- Selection
Then, the municipalities take care of taking the garbage from those containers to the factories. There, the materials are separated and distributed according to whether they can be used again or not. However, in all cases the process is not the same, not with all types of containers the same process is done.
The cardboard and paper containers go directly to recycling. There, after being separated by quality, the selection process of the blue container is finished. In the case of the yellow container, the process is a little longer. First the plastic containers, the briks and the metal containers have to be separated. And then before being sent for recycling the containers are distributed around the facility.
3- Recycling
Finally, the packaging to be recycled is recovered. From here on, the materials are ready to be applied in other products. These are some examples of use:
8 boxes of cereals = 1 book
6 briks = 1 Shoe box
40 plastic bottles = 1 Polar suit
80 cans = 1 bicycle wheel
